Our Calling

Mission:

Become one of the most impactful catalysts of a church planting network that ministers to U.S. military members overseas.

Thankfully, God’s people are beginning to realize the toll our military members are paying when they go overseas. Those who are Christians may have their foundation shaken and those who are unbelievers are vulnerable enough to realize that they need an anchor and may be open to the gospel. Other ministries such as Praetorian Project, Cadence Ministries, Navigators, and Cru military each have a heart to serve military members in different capacities but now that the SBC has started to focus on this, we are excited to help them develop their own network. It is called Church Planting in Military Communities (CPMC) and they started planting overseas as of a few years ago. We encourage you to go to their website and check it out. Our goal is to partner with them to start building this network in Japan.

Vision:

Plant a church near the largest focus of overseas military members, partner with fellow planters, and evangelize/disciple military members.

According to the US Forces Japan (USFJ) website, there are over 130,000 personnel working on 85different military facilities across Japan. According to the Yokosuka Naval base website, their facility is the largest overseas naval base and is one of the “most strategically important bases in the U.S. military. Yokosuka alone has approximately 25,000 personnel.

You will notice on the CPMC map that there is already a church in Yokosuka Japan. Much like a sister church here in the states, we plan to start a church near another plant in order to build a stronger foundation in Japan and in order to create a base of operations for setting up other churches across the country. In Yokosuka, there is a housing detachment with approximately 3,000 personnel. This housing detachment is approximately 30 minutes from the Naval base and although people commute to go to work, a church that is close to their homes would likely be more successful for their community.

As we evangelize and disciple people at these two facilities, we pray that God, if it be His will, helps us raise up young men who are mature in the faith and are passionate about ministering to military communities to come back and go to one of the other 83 facilities in Japan.

Purpose:

Overseas military members are some of the most vulnerable and they need strong churches around them.

Suicide rates in the military continue to go up but it is overseas members that are most likely to commit suicide and/or experience PTSD. Even though our forces may be helping keep peace around the world, the reality is that there is a spiritual battle that is raging around them. Even though Christianity is waning in our country, it is not dead yet, and many of the young military Christians that deploy, Satan threatens to uproot. I have personally seen many friends in the military begin to doubt what they believed during their time of service. I could share testimonies of people who God has brought back to the faith and as they look back, they cry thinking about the time they pleaded with God to provide a body of believers for them to plug into. This is why we do what we do. We long to serve the Lord of militaries by serving alongside the military's most attacked.
